How the "Ugly Pad" is made.
Karin will first watch you ride your horse with your equipment. She will then evaluate your saddle fit checking for pressure points. If the saddle does not fit correctly she will refit the saddle with a plain "Ugly Pad" and shim where it is needed. You will then ride the horse and see if there is a difference. Once you have decided to purchase the "Ugly Pad", Karin will make a template of your horse's back on tissue paper. From this template she will custom make your pad. The pad takes approximately an hour and a half. At which time she will check the pad on your horse to make sure it is a correct fit.
The cost of the "Ugly Pad' varies $100.00 to $175.00 depending on the amount of material used.
